Seattle Seahawks fullback Spencer Ware was arrested less than a week before the big showdown with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game, reports the Seattle Post Intelligencer.

King County Jail records show that Ware was booked around 2:00 AM Monday morning just hours after the team's triumph over the New Orleans Saints. He was reportedly arrested by the Washington State Patrol and charged with driving while intoxicated. Ware is a rookie sixth round selection out of LSU. If he misses Sunday's game, the loss may not be that great as he only appeared in two games for the Seahawks all year. Ware has been on injured reserve since October.

Ware's arrest should serve as a reminder to all drivers that you should make plans for transportation if you plan to drink. For example, if your office has a party or you're going to a fancy dinner and will likely drink alcohol, you may want to go with a designated driver or have the number of a cab handy. Even though Ware is a rookie and on injured reserve, one assumes that he earns enough money to pay for a cab after a night out in town.
