Drunk Parent Arrested For Drying Off Children on Hood of Moving Car

A drunk Texas mother allegedly thought of an ingenious way to dry off her four wet children -- she would place the four kids on the trunk and hood of her moving car letting the warm breeze blow her children dry. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and the four children were thrown off the car and hospitalized, reports NBC Dallas Forth Worth.

Police say that 39-year-old Kisha Young had just taken her children to a community pool. The children ranged in age from 8 to 14 and sat on the hood and trunk of their mother's Chevy Malibu as she drove them around the neighborhood. Young allegedly took a corner too fast and caused all four children to go flying off.

Witnesses say that Young did not initially realize that her children were injured. However, she soon realized that the children suffered serious injuries and that her 12-year-old daughter suffered severe head injuries. The witnesses questioned who in their right mind would let their children hang on the outside of a moving car. Police say that Young was drunk and was obviously not thinking coherently.

Young was charged with drunk driving and other offenses. Child Protective Services will be involved and plan an investigation that could lead to the removal of the four children from Young's care.

Contact a Seattle DUI Attorney

Kisha Young's case demonstrates that intoxicated drivers don't make the best decisions. First, it's a bad decision to get behind the wheels drunk. Second, it goes without saying that you should not dry off your wet children by driving them around with them sitting on the hood of your car.

If you've made a bad decision and got behind the wheels of your car drunk in the Seattle area, you will need experienced legal representation. You face serious penalties for a DUI charge. Contact a DUI attorney at Wolff Criminal Defense by calling 425-284-2000 and learn how we can help you.
