During the Fourth of July weekend, the Washington State Patrol and local law enforcement agencies stepped up their DUI patrols to help keep the roads safe. On the eve of July 4th, Washington State Troopers apparently pulled over a woman in Marysville after she struck the car in front of her. The driver of the car that was struck was the woman's boss, reports King 5 News.
The Washington State Patrol is utilizing stepped up patrols, partnerships with local law enforcement agencies, and even aircraft during this busy season to spot and arrest drunk drivers. However, the authorities probably did not need too much help to spot the unidentified woman who struck her boss.
The accident happened at about 7:00 AM in Marysville. Following the accident, the woman reportedly told the authorities that she had drank the night before and had subsequently taken prescription drugs that morning causing her driving to become impaired. She was given a field sobriety test, which she failed. The woman now faces criminal DUI charges. No word yet on what kind of non-legal action her boss will take.
